Black Myth: Zhong Kui — What Has Been Confirmed
Game Science has opened the official Black Myth: Zhong Kui website. Here is what is confirmed and what still requires an official announcement.
Game Science has opened the official Black Myth: Zhong Kui website, signaling that the Black Myth series will extend beyond Wukong's journey to another major figure from Chinese folk belief and supernatural storytelling.
What is confirmed so far
The most reliable information currently comes from Game Science itself: the project is titled Black Myth: Zhong Kui and has a dedicated official page. A release date, platforms, price, and full gameplay structure should not yet be treated as confirmed.
Why Zhong Kui
In Chinese tradition, Zhong Kui is closely associated with warding off evil, capturing ghosts, and judging right from wrong. The figure naturally opens a path into stories of the supernatural, the underworld, and folk custom that differs from the setting of Journey to the West.
Cultural background is not the same thing as the game's plot. Character relationships, worldbuilding, and the direction of its story must follow information released by the developers.
What readers should keep in mind
Early announcements often attract a large amount of speculation. We separate coverage into three categories:
- Facts published through official channels;
- Observations based on public footage;
- Unverified rumors.
This article currently records only the first category. When the studio reveals platforms, gameplay, and development milestones, we will add an update date and a clear record of changes.
